1 Good Reason is a nonprofit grass roots organization determined to create and finance ecologically responsible, sustainable, life-improving projects that help those who need them most around the world.

We started this organization with the realization that it doesn't take a massive corporation to help disadvantaged people. We live in the United States, the richest country in the world. We create the most waste, consume the most food, and use the most energy. A third of our world is starving, and another third goes hungry. Every 3.5 seconds someone dies of hunger. Meanwhile in the first world our overconsumption and lack of envronmental responsibility is pushing every living system on the planet into decline. The most troubling part of all this is that we have the technological means to correct these problems.

For us it's not just about dropping bags of rice.
We're about:

- Organic sustainable agriculture without the use of toxic pesticides
- Eliminating waste whenever possible, recycling and composting, vermicomposting, etc.
- Utilizing the earth's recources to create sustainable, renewable energy
